August Giveaway
The August giveaway is a little bit different than usual. It's not a book this time! I've realized what a gift it can be to grow old. I mean, perhaps especially in Western culture, we tend to do our best to avoid aging - to ward it off, to make it look like we aren't growing old. And, yet, when we realize we may not have the opportunity to grow old or someone we love isn't going to have that chance, it may open our eyes to all that we could miss. Obviously, growing old is no walk in the park - just ask Miss Mary! But all over the world people are asking God to give them, their dads, their moms, their children the chance to grow old as they've found out this gift may not be theirs. May those of us who, at least for today, have that chance to grow a little bit older, take it as a gift with a "thank you" instead of acting like it's something to avoid.
This ties in to the August giveaway - a notebook that says "Start each day with a grateful heart" on the cover and a pretty coaster. As we step into the (probably) busy fall season, may we not forget all the things for which we can be grateful - including growing older! You can use this notebook to keep a list of things you are grateful for, keep track of to-do's, record daily events, journal your prayers and more. Along with the notebook comes a coaster that is perfect for your cup of tea (or coffee, if you must)! (See below for a photo of the giveaway items.) I think Miss Mary would enjoy using these items, although the children of County Clare would probably get to use the notebook more than she would and would get to "practice their spelling" as we read about in the story.
To be eligible to win the giveaway, subscribe to the Miss Mary newsletter by 11:59pm CDT on the deadline date (August 31, 2022) and have an address within the United States to which the giveaway items can be mailed. The winner of each item will be randomly selected and notified via email on the day after the deadline date (September 1, 2022). New for this giveaway: The winner's first name (and possibly last initial) will be mentioned in the September newsletter! If the winner has not responded to the notification email by 11:59pm CDT on September 15, 2022, a new winner may be randomly selected.
