A Giveaway!
Miss Mary loves a good story, and Sammy and His Shepherd: Seeing Jesus in Psalm 23 would definitely be on her good-story shelf!

In Sammy and His Shepherd: Seeing Jesus in Psalm 23 by Susan Hunt, you and any children you share this story with will follow the story of Sammy the sheep as he becomes friends with a sickly, nameless sheep and they learn about Sammy’s Shepherd together. Each chapter is based on a section of Psalm 23 and is only a couple of pages long, perfect for little ones who like to wiggle! Lovely discussion questions for each chapter can be found in the back of the book.
Sammy and His Shepherd is sweet, thought provoking, informative – you may learn some interesting things about sheep! – and the kind of book grownups can benefit from reading just as much as children. I think it could be a useful tool for helping children learn to handle fear and anxiety. The print is a little small for me, especially for a children’s book, but I think Sammy and His Shepherd is best used as a read-aloud, share-together book like Miss Mary: A Tale of Old County Clare, and for many grownups the print size won’t be a problem.
To enter the giveaway, subscribe to the Miss Mary newsletter by 11:59pm CDT on April 30.
